The smell of rotten eggs burst into the car. A few hundred yards later, bursts of smoke appears out of the ground. Sulfur is so strong in Tomohon, North Sulawesi, precisely in the vicinity of Lake Linow.
However, there is a unique one. Navigate your way to Lake Linow. The lake that is bewitching eyes displays the three colors that seemed to always be changing. Not just beautiful, look at one corner of the lake.
Grouse birds seemed to fill the lake, flying low, then swim in the water of the lake. This is interesting, because the lake contains a strong sulfur. The colors seem to change that was caused by sulfur contained in the lake.
Effect of sunlight make the color more as alternate. Lakes such as split in two, the side that is full of sulfur. Apparently there is a canal that flows naturally into the sulfur out of the lake.
View from our eyes, one side of the lake is so beautiful with the color turquoise. Meanwhile, on the other side looks clear bluish. Paired nicely like a painting.
A relaxing area on the shores of Lake Linow built by private parties. Neat and clean, laid-style wooden pier with the dominant white accents. According to one visitor, Alfred Sambalao, the area is managed by the Family Karompis. “Built in 2006. I’ve been to this area, but this was the first invited guests from the Netherlands to relax on the lake, “he said.
Visitors who wish to enter into the area of Lake Linow have to pay a ticket for Rp 25,000. Sounds expensive? Take it easy, at that price, you will also get a cup of coffee or tea and coconut cake.
